I wanted to make a song about words that can't be spoken.

The song is a play on 梔子 and 口無し, meaning "without a mouth."
The song is about not being able to speak your feelings. What these feelings are, are up to interpretation, but likely is a confession of "love"
The Gardenia typically symbolizes pure, but unspoken love. The literal japanese name reading means "without a mouth."

Once again, I hide my own experiences behind a more conventional interpretation of the lyrics. That way, I can work towards being confessional while still maintaining distance. Balancing artistry and authenticity.

The lyrics are bittersweet, but I think the most likely interpretation is one of hope.

The speaker finds a love that brings them out of their sadness. With this person, they are able to "run away" from this place of suffering.
The verse reveals how much this other person brings light to the speaker's life.

"My dream's are gone, but I see them with you."
"If I could stand by you, I think I'll find it."

However, they are too afraid to speak their feelings, or don't know how. The bloom of the Gardenia, and the reassurance that there is light after the rain is a form of self-soothing from the speaker.
The speaker addresses themselves as the "Gardenia." Through the chorus, they empower themselves to grow as a person.

"Even if I can't put my feelings into words, one day, they will blossom into flowers for 'you' to see."

However, theres another interpretation.
The rain is the rejection of love and the realization that the speaker and this "you" are better off separate.
The hint for this interpretation is the "rain" mention both in the beginning of the song and in the chorus. These are the same rain.
"Let's go far away (from each other)"
With this, the verse feels much more bittersweet.
"My dreams were with you, now I've lost them."
"But, the dreams are still with you"
"If I was with you, surely, I'd find them.'
"But since such a thing isn't possible, I'll sink my feelings into the green and hope they will bloom."

Therefore, the Gardenia can represent the speaker (hope for healing), the other person (the person that shines far away, "without speaking"), or both.
The idea behind the ambiguity is that both parties can find happiness and grow separately.

The reason the chorus is repeated twice is to emphasize this duality (im kidding i was just lazy).

I think having so many interpretations is so beautiful. Depending on what one is going through, the song's vague lyrics can be mapped to their own experience.
Without being specific, the relational dynamics highlighted by the song can be applied to one's own life.

For example, someone who found love in a dark place can see the song as a reflection of their own happiness.
Someone who has had their heart broken can see the song as a reflection of their own pain.

Two different interpretations, two different takeaways, all from the same song.
